What is Paid Search

Paid Search is a form of digital marketing that allows advertisers to show ads on search engines such as Google or Bing when a user searches for a specific phrase. Unlike the delayed data that TV, radio and print marketers receive, paid search is instant- each time the ad is clicked, the advertiser pays the search engine a certain amount of money.

It will be your job to ensure that we are getting the most effective price for these clicks based on our clients business goals. You’ll know exactly what’s going on, what’s working and what’s not in real time.

What is the Opportunity

Learn from the best of the best and spend your days exploring paid digital marketing across a range of dynamic channels (including PPC, paid social, remarketing and display), ensuring you’re stimulated, challenged and thinking beyond Google’s methodologies. Our remote team is always on Slack and Zoom, supporting each other and sharing the latest search marketing techniques, tips and insights – we may work from home, but we do not work alone.

This isn’t your typical entry level position. You will be a contributing member of the team from day one, trusted with responsibilities and client-urgent tasks that both test your abilities and cultivate a sense of ownership.

And while that may sound equally exciting and terrifying, you’ll be actively mentored by our Head of Paid Search and Senior SEM Specialist, ensuring practical advice and ready help is always available. Ideally, we want you to grow with us, taking on more senior duties as you come into your abilities and handle campaign strategy, client facing communications and proposal preparation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Strategise: Understand and uncover business goals, identify their target audience, research competitors and set campaign goals.
  • Build: Find the best keywords for your clients customers and set up meticulously themed campaigns, ready for optimisation and reporting.
  • Create: Write and experiment with ad copy. A/B test which creative drives a better click through rate. Work with the client to update messaging as sales/campaigns are rolled out.
  • Respond: Roll out bid adjustments based on instructions around key client performance metrics.
  • Communicate: Inform clients how their campaigns went. Help the team prepare client reports and dashboards. Check the accuracy of the data. Tell a story with the data you’ve pulled out.
  • Learn: Earn and maintain updated Paid Search Google certifications.

What We're Looking For In An Ideal Candidate

  • You are a recent graduate or coordinator level professional with one or two years experience in a client or data focused role.
  • You love numbers. You aren’t afraid to wrangle and clean up large sets of data. You thrive on spreadsheets and get a kick out of working out what the numbers are saying by using a variety of tools such as data visualisation.
  • You pay strong attention to detail, have a highly analytical mind and are committed to data accuracy.
  • You aspire to be in a client-facing role. You enjoy customer service and go above and beyond to help people solve their problems.
  • You have a genuine interest in developing a career in digital marketing
  • You are a confident and clear communicator who can articulate complicated topics into simple layman terms, both in person and on the phone.
  • You are self-driven to learn, can be left alone on tasks, try to work out how to solve problems by yourself before asking your manager.
  • You are an Australian citizen or permanent resident with the right to work in Australia.
